Do you recall the good old days of ink ribbons and whiteout?
While not exactly an eccentric childhood recluse, I do remember being elated to receive a portable avocado-grayish Smith-Corona typewriter for my 10th birthday! Oh how I annoyed my siblings plunking on that typewriter in the back-seat on long summer road trips.
Whether scriptwriting television and radio commercials for the family music business, or implementing multimedia promotions for various bookstores, I have thoroughly appreciated the art of writing and marketing.
I am also an editorialist and Internet content writer who strives for authenticity through research.
I have enjoyed a variety of endeavors, such as entrepreneur, singer/songwriter, musician, artist, as well as pastor & worship leader.
A Penny From Heaven?
As an author, my true passion is historical fiction like the latest novel TO SENSE WORTH. The idea to write a novel about the first Lincoln "wheat" penny travelling through history came to me in August 2009. While clearing the backyard of a house in the sweltering Texas heat, I found a penny amidst a pile of debris. And the first thing I did? Check the date, of course. It wasn't old, but can you imagine all the places a penny could travel and the stories it could tell?
Researching the origin of the first Lincoln penny, I was shocked to discover it had first been minted to commemorate Lincoln's 100th birthday in August 1909, exactly 100 years before, to the month! At that point, I knew I had to write the story.

Abounding with Scripture and the testimonies of fellow travelers, "OPT in! Overcoming Personal Tragedy" takes a fresh perspective on the issue of suffering. Drawing heavily from the journey of grief following the murder of my wife of 16 years (and the mother of our children), "OPT in!" examines the many facets of this often controversial subject. I've also produced children's books like the NELLIE GREEN the JELLY BEAN series, featuring my original illustrations and rhyming stories that help children navigate through social and behavioral issues like anger management, honesty, and self-esteem. Designed for 1st thru 4th Graders.
